WhatsApp is planning to solve a common problem when creating groups. According to the innovation shared by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, it will now be possible to create groups anonymously on the platform. Groups opened in this way will automatically be named with the name of the participants.
You can now create anonymous groups on WhatsApp
WhatsApp has launched a new feature that allows users to create groups without naming them. This will allow users to create groups even if they have not yet decided on a topic or purpose. However, there will be some restrictions on anonymous groups.
It is currently possible to add up to 1024 participants to a WhatsApp group. Anonymous groups will be limited to only 6 members. Each member’s name will be created as it is registered in the contacts of the person who created the group. If the administrator has not saved a member in their contacts, their phone number will appear.
According to WhatsApp, this update will appeal to people who need to create groups instantly. In particular, it will help family members and friends quickly create groups. The company plans to roll out the new feature to users in the next few weeks.
This update, which solves a small but important issue, follows other additions to WhatsApp. The platform previously made it possible for users to send high-quality photos and videos. So you will be able to send photos in HD resolution if you want.
On the other hand, the platform started testing different fonts a while ago. Italic, bold, strikethrough or spaced text formats will be available, as well as bulleted text, quoted text or code blocks.
